Behind
the decks Amber is as animated as she is technical, twisting away
at the dials on the mixer, cutting out the beats and basslines while
ferociously working two tracks into a long and grinding mix. Amber
confesses that she loves playing Hardstyle and Hardtrance but is
quick to point out that she is versatile and enjoys playing Trance,
Progressive, Hardhouse, Funky House and at times Old Skool Rave
and Happy Hardcore. When she’s not all over a record Amber
takes to the crowd, right arm raised clawing away and shredding
the smoke and air around her. Her individuality and raw talent combine
to create a power packed, explosive performance behind the wheels
of steel.
This fresh and vibrant
approach and execution of superb sets has Amber on the road to high
places as she already travels regularly around Australia and build
more roads to travel along to ultimately take her place as a reputable
DJ in the Australian dance community.
Resident DJ at Sydney’s
premier clubs which include Sublime at Home and Sounds On Sunday
at the Greenwood. Amber’s first set was back in June 2000
and happened by chance. A guest DJ failed to appear at a party,
Amber knew the promoter and found herself taking the guest DJ’s
place only one week shy of her actual official debut set which was
to take place at the Icebox.
In only a few short years
Amber has taken clubland by storm. This success has led to her to
appear on the party circuit playing at raves and festivals which
to date include Utopia, Transmission, Ravestock, Fantasia and Lost
In Bass.
Amber’s played
in most major capital cities and even some more remote and out of
the way places. She’s played interstate at Family in Brisbane,
Le Rox in Adelaide, Fever on the Gold Coast and Bubble in Melbourne.
She’s also played in Western Australia’s Margaret River
district and in the northern NSW town of Port Macquarie and frequents
other NSW areas such as the Central Coast and Newcastle and down
south in Canberra. Her latest interstate accomplishment being her
debut with Scattered Industries in Melbourne.
Aspirations to record
in the studio saw her work recently with a producer making a track,
which she featured at Transmission. No set time frame as to when
she’ll record a release but Amber has plans to build her own
recording studio. The desire to make music comes from her piano
training and music studies through out her high school years.
Arguably, she’s
the face of the new dance generation. Her professional approach
and attitude to the industry is refreshing. She can cut it up on
the decks and delivers damage to the dancefloor. Amber’s playing
by her own rules and watch her because as the name suggests, ‘Savage
by name, Savage by nature!’
